December to March is the warmest and best for the beaches. April to June and September to November are calmer, and Blumenau's Oktoberfest takes place in October.
Four to five days cover Florianópolis and Balneário Camboriú. Add two days for Blumenau and the highlands.
Fly to São Paulo or Rio via a Gulf or European hub, then take a domestic flight of around one and a half hours to Florianópolis. Balneário Camboriú is about two hours by road from Florianópolis.
