Quindío tour packages are the classic way to experience Colombia’s coffee axis, a UNESCO-listed landscape of green hills, plantation houses and tall wax palms. Salento is a colourful mountain village, the Valle de Cocora is a misty valley with the world’s tallest palms, and Filandia offers viewpoints and craft shops. Armenia is the capital, and Quimbaya and Montenegro are home to coffee theme parks. Plan three to four days, and visit between December and March.

December to March and July to August are driest; the valley is misty in the mornings and cool all year.
