Maryland tour packages are a short drive from Washington, D.C., and combine harbour cities with beach and bay scenery. Baltimore is known for the Inner Harbor, the National Aquarium and blue crab dishes, Annapolis is a pretty sailing town with the United States Naval Academy, and Ocean City is the state’s main beach resort with a long boardwalk. The Chesapeake Bay shapes much of the state, with seafood shacks and lighthouses on its shores. Spring to early autumn is the best time, with summer ideal for the beach. Many travellers fit Maryland into an East Coast circuit.
