Between them lie sandhills, rivers and vast ranches. Each spring, sandhill cranes gather along the Platte River in huge numbers. Nebraska is ideal as part of a Midwest road trip, best in spring and early autumn.

Fly to Omaha via a US hub such as Chicago, Denver or Dallas. Lincoln is about an hour from Omaha by road.
