September to November and March to May are mild in Perth and the south-west. The tropical north, including Broome, is best from May to September, avoiding the humid wet season.
Four to five days cover Perth, Fremantle, Rottnest and a Margaret River day trip. A trip to Ningaloo or Broome needs a further four to five days with flights.
Perth is one of the closest Australian cities to India, and most itineraries use one-stop flights via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or the Gulf. Total journey time is typically 10 to 14 hours.
