Jiangxi tourism covers a lesser-visited inland province of hills, lakes and porcelain heritage. Mount Lushan is a misty retreat with waterfalls, villas and scholarly history, Jingdezhen has made fine porcelain for over a thousand years, and the countryside villages of Wuyuan are known for rapeseed flowers in spring. Sanqingshan is a Taoist mountain park with spectacular granite pinnacles. Travel is by train and road, so allow four to five days. March to April for flowers and September to November for clear skies are best.

March and April bring the Wuyuan rapeseed blooms, and September to November offers clear weather. Summer is hot, except on Mount Lushan, which is a cool escape.
Four to five days work for two or three of Lushan, Jingdezhen, Wuyuan and Sanqingshan. Distances are long, so choose by interest.
Fly or take a train to Nanchang, the capital, or reach Jingdezhen and Wuyuan by high-speed train from Shanghai or Hangzhou.
