Ehime tour packages bring together hot springs, a hilltop castle and a world-class cycling route on the island of Shikoku. Matsuyama is the capital, home to the ancient Dogo Onsen bathhouse, said to have inspired Spirited Away, and an original castle. Uchiko is a well-kept merchant town, and Imabari is the Shikoku end of the Shimanami Kaido bridge route. Mandarin oranges grow all over the hillsides. Ehime is reached from Hiroshima by ferry or via the Shimanami Kaido and offers a warm, relaxed atmosphere.

High-speed boats run from Hiroshima to Matsuyama in around 70 minutes, and Matsuyama Airport has flights from Tokyo and Osaka.
