Pattaya offers beaches, theme parks, cabaret shows, walking streets and speedboat trips to the island of Koh Larn. The province also has the wooden Sanctuary of Truth, the Nong Nooch Tropical Garden and the seaside town of Bang Saen, popular with Thai families. Bangkok is about two hours away by road, which makes Chon Buri the easiest beach addition to a capital stay.

November to February is the most comfortable season, with sunny days and calm seas for island trips. April and May are hot, while the rainy season from June to October brings showers but cheaper rates.

Fly into Bangkok from India and travel about two hours south-east by road. U-Tapao Airport near Pattaya also receives some flights, though most travellers arrive via Bangkok.
