Cebu has the oldest Spanish city in the country, canyoneering at Kawasan Falls and sardine runs at Moalboal, while Bohol offers the Chocolate Hills, tarsiers and the beaches of Panglao. Dumaguete is a relaxed university city and the gateway to Apo Island’s turtles, and Siquijor is a quiet island of waterfalls and folklore. Ferries link all of these, so a week lets you see most of them.

Cebu's Mactan airport receives direct flights from Manila and several Asian hubs, and most Indian travellers connect through Manila, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. Bohol is a short flight or fast ferry from Cebu.
